This is a wall art made with men's vintage cotton lining of haori jacket from the 1930s.
As cotton was used mostly on casual everyday wear, this haori is assumed to be once a commoner's casual jacket. In Japanese traditional garments, especially haori jackets, their linings have always been a part of the fashion. Despite the fact that it is not often visible, Japanese people have put a lot of effort into having very unique fashionable linings.
The stencil dye technique was used to create this realistic painting of a dog. To fabricate a beautiful texture of the dog's fur, different tones of black/gray were used and painted with big brush strokes. This is truly one-of-a-kind art and could be a great gift for a dog lover who appreciates vintage art.
The fabrics we use are in excellent condition, though sometimes there are small marks, blemishes, and or creases indicative of the fabric's rich history. If you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message.
