This is a wall art made with a vintage wool muslin kimono from the 1930s.
In Japanese traditional garments, not only the outer fabrics but linings have always been a part of the fashion. Despite the fact that it is not often visible, Japanese people have put a lot of effort into having very unique fashionable linings. This wall art is made with a wool lining of a wool haori jacket. Sakura (cherry blossoms) and birds are stenciled to the fabric and this creates a beautiful gradation of background colours.
The fabrics we use are in excellent condition, though sometimes there are small marks, blemishes, and or creases indicative of the fabric's rich history. If you have any questions or concerns, please send us a message.
